According to the World Food Program, “Hunger is a crisis impacting nearly 350 million people including children worldwide.” The study also claims that hunger contributes to stunted cognitive growth in children. Within these astounding numbers are the children of Sierra Leone who do not attend school or are forced to leave their homes in search of food. Among other reasons, the cause of hunger in Sierra Leone is often credited to inflation, civil unrest, and the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. In response to the country’s food insecurity, our ‘Feed The Hungry’ campaign has fed three schools on special occasions, provided residents with cash for food, and plan to develop food vouchers for vulnerable groups. We believe that feeding the hungry is a godly calling and no one is exempted from it.
